Center Village was recently awrded $6,500,000 in funding by The Connecticut Department of Housing. This provides Center Village the necessary financing to pair with Low Income Housing Tax Credits, a mortgage from CHFA and other sources to move forward with the redevelopent plan. The Glastonbury Housing Authority is very grateful for the opportunity to redevelop Center Village and provide an affordable housing property that will compliment the Town Center. This opportunity will provide an affordable rental solution for many citizens age 62 and older in a fabulous location that provides access to resturants, banks, medical offices and other daily services.
After a successful redevelopment of Village Green, Center Village is the second step in GHA's efforts to reposition its assets and preserve and expand affordable housing opportunitie in the community.
The Housing Authority is continues to look for Welles Village residents interested in pariticpating in the Resident Advisory Board (RAB). The RAB helps the Authority develop its policies by providing resident input. Items the RAB helps to produce are the Annual Plan, Five Year Plan, Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policy and more.
